Physics in the Math Curriculum

Pat performed a couple of demonstrations which involved simple math combined with imaginative thought. He started with a lever problem which could be made into two equations with two unknowns. He then pointed out that by using pulleys and such you could, quite easily, set up 6 X 6 matrices.

After Pat’s demonstrations we discussed the direction of the program and what we would like to see happen. The two universal points were continued (and expanded) contact, which would be enhanced by the sharing and modification of lessons.

Art did a mini presentation on discussion groups that amazed and thrilled all of us.

The remainder of the time was spent preparing materials for our presentation.
