Reasoning from Data and Chance SummaryMonday - Friday, July 14 - 18, 2008Monday: A brainstorming session was held to help focus our attention on possible topics that could be used for a final product. Time was given to explore possible projects and to explore with Fathom. The group was to arrive on Tuesday with a final decision on what project would be pursued this year. Tuesday: In order to focus the group on this year's final products, we viewed the abstracts and files submitted by the 2006 working group. Following this, the participants reported which projects they would be working on. Kym, Cami, Jocelyn, Laurie, and Patrick are all working on some form of multiple choice analysis and Nathan and Tony chose to work on a simulation of shuffling cards. Thursday and Friday: Groups worked on their projects. On Thursday, Bill Thill, (a previous participant 2006, 2007, and assistant to the Data group (2007) joined us by Skype from Los Angeles to help with some questions about Fathom that we encountered Tuesday and today. ![]() PCMI@MathForum Home || IAS/PCMI Home ![]()
