Gerhard Huisken, Universität Tübingen gave a Clay Lecture on Tuesday, July 2. On Monday, July 1, he gave a pre-lecture to the Summer School Teachers Program.
Lecture Topic: Heat Diffusion in Geometry
Huisken described his lecture by saying, "I will start with a very simple example of linear heat diffusion in a rod and then slowly work my way to geometric heat equations like curve shortening flow etc. I will have to assume students have seen derivatives but will explain all concepts of curvature."
