Applications for travel grants are now available to attend the Thirteenth International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME-13), to be held in Hamburg, Germany from July 24-31, 2016. The application deadline is September 30, 2015. Grants will be awarded by February 1, 2016.
International Congresses are held every four years and offer a unique opportunity for mathematics educators from the United States to discuss issues related to mathematics education with international leaders from developed and developing countries. Travel grants give participants the opportunity to interact with mathematics educators from across countries, listen to world-renowned scholars in mathematics and mathematics education, and take part in small, focused topic study groups on a wide range of topics.
The National Science Foundation grants are available only to U.S. citizens or those working in the US on a green card and will provide support for travel expenses to ICME-13 for K-12 U.S. mathematics teachers and supervisors, mathematicians, graduate students and mathematics teacher educators and researchers. Travel grant funding can be put toward hotel accommodations, meal costs, and conference registration. The awards can be used toward air transportation provided travel is on a United States carrier. Travel grant awardees under this program may not use additional funds from other NSF programs to supplement their international travel.
