Project Abstract
I have to teach WHAT? An Introduction to Statistical Concepts for Grades 6-9
Authors: Vicki Lyons, Gareth Chase, Missy Kammerman, Angelina Morelli, Iris Nelson, Mary Velez

This is a four-session, facilitated online statistics course. The intended audience is teachers unfamiliar with teaching statistics in grades 6-9. Participants will experience working with a variety of online resources to find good data on the internet, download and analyze, and use it to answer well-constructed statistical questions. The content leads the participant from formulating a good statistical question to creating a variety of visual representations for both univariate and bivariate data. The final session continues the conversation by looking at the story the data has to tell.
