Japanese Lesson StudyThursday, July 12Jane gave out some articles which address some topics which we raised questions about on Tuesday. We talked about using incorrect solutions to Math Forum problems of the week as a resource to plan a lesson with anticipated student responses. We discussed what type of schedule we wanted for the third week, when we wanted to try our lessons on actual students. We watched a video of a Japanese research lesson on functions and evaluated what we saw. We had each prepared a sample lesson-study lesson based on our own work. We presented these to the class and then worked on of these lessons in detail. |
