"Getting Ready"

Today's session was spent preparing for our presentation, which is scheduled for next Friday, July 27^th. At the end of yesterday's session we each chose a portion of the presentation to work on. We did a dry run and talk about ways to make the presentation better to ensure that we do not run over the 30 minutes. Victoria presented the Linear Function Portion, John presented the quadratic portion, and David presented the quartic portion. Some really great ideas and suggestions were offered to improve upon the presentation's delivery. Some of the suggestions made included having overheads prepared in order to save time, along with having the important patterns (i.e. Pascal's) colored coded so that it is easily identified. We also talked about a timeline for our Mathematics Teacher article. Gisele suggested the following dates: 1^st draft, 10/31/01, 2^nd draft, 01/21/02, and a submission date of 2/28/02. We ended the session agreeing to work on preparing for our second dry run during Monday's working session.
