Probability Simulations - David Kapolka

On one of the afternoon sessions, I was given one hour to demonstrate two probability simulations with calculator. One simulation was the project I am working on, "The Probability of a Boy." And the other was from the NCTM Feb. 2002 Mathematics Teacher, Probability of surviving a tradegy and needing a blood transfusion. This simulation is terrific because students learn not only about probability, but also about blood types and who can give blood to whm and what types of blood people can receive. There is a lot of medical science embedded in this problem.
