Teacher Professional Continuum SummaryMonday - Friday, July 21 - 25, 2008The TPC group continues to focus on writing facilitator guides supporting the 2008 materials. John is doing the initial writing with an emphasis on the mathematical ideas and then Peg is refining that work to be aligned with the facilitator's guide template. The group has continued to meet each day with Ben and Darryl to debrief on the mathematics and the dynamic of the morning class in order to capture a variety of perspectives as well as to provide feedback to assist with design of the problem sets. One of this year's SSTP participants is thinking of using the morning problem sets as a 12 week professional development course with his math department at his school and would provide additional feedback about the materials and their implementation from an additional perspective. |
