c-TaP: Middle School SummaryMonday - Friday, July 2 - 6, 2012The MS group has adopted the architecture of the Elementary Toolkit as their guiding framework. The MS toolkit will be built around four primary goals, with the work divided across the four group members: Acquaintance with the 8 Practices, Seeing the Structure of the Progressions in the Content Standards, Becoming Attentive to Vocabulary in the Standards, and Gauging and Adjusting Cognitive Load in Tasks. The first two goals are being built on the work of Donna Rishor and Sam Klein Rose. First drafts of these goals are due early in week two for review by the entire group, and second drafts will be due at the beginning of week three. Monday - Friday, July 9 - 13, 2012The Middle School c-TaP group spent this week drafting facilitator's guides for their four goals, and running through draft versions of their presentations for group feedback. We now have drafts of most of our slideshows, facilitator guides and handouts, and are going to spend Monday and Tuesday running through them in real time. Monday - Friday, July 16 - 20, 2012The Middle School c-TaP working group spent the final week of PCMI doing a real-time run-through of their workshop modules, and providing one another with a second round of critical feedback. The final days were spent making edits, and preparing for the physical needs of workshops, including designing handouts and purchasing office supplies. On Friday, the group presented an overview of its work to the SSTP participants. |
