Decisions Based on Data, The Role of Simulations

The standards in most states have an increased emphasis on statistics and probability beginning in the middle grades. Simulation is one approach that can enable students to build a solid foundation for more formal work they will encounter later allowing students to investigate probability questions, giving them a sense of how samples vary, and how we can make decisions based on data.
