Two-Day/One-Day Outreach Materials

For the Summer 2018 PCMI our group was given the task of condensing a two-day PCMI experience into a one-day workshop and organizing a new two-day PCMI experience from materials used recently at PCMI that could also be condensed into a one-day workshop. Our group spent time doing the math, writing facilitator notes, and collecting, organizing, modifying, and updating previously used materials so that the previous PCMI two-day experience, Scaling the Teaching Curve, could be presented in either a two-day or a one-day format. Our group also organized and prepared a new workshop consisting of three Reflecting on Practice sessions using materials from this summer’s Reflecting on Practice focus on Lani Horn’s book Motivated and four math sessions from materials created by one of last summer’s PCMI working groups. The new workshop is titled Center You Class on Motivation and can be presented in either a two-day or a one-day format.
